Born in Wisconsin, Chris moved South with her family, first to Richmond, Virginia, and then to Birmingham when she was 12. She loves being a girl raised in the South, and her only remaining Midwestern traits are a love for the Packers and a fondness for bratwurst. Today, Chris is the center support that keeps the seesaw of her family balanced, leading a blended family of three young adults and enjoying an empty nest.

Leah grew up in a small town in north Jefferson County. She attended UAB and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She is the community editor of 280 Living newspaper. A resident of Chelsea since 2005, Leah and her husband Todd have been married for 16 years and have a son, Carson, and daughter, Morgan. If there is every downtime in her schedule, you will find Leah at Starbucks, Target, getting a pedicure or spending time with her girlfriends.

Mallory

Mallory grew up in Oklahoma, met her husband Dave in college there, and they have lived in Maryland, Michigan, and now Alabama since getting married ten years ago. They are parents to three sweet little girls, ages 5, 3, and 1. Four years ago they moved to Birmingham, and Mallory now works as a college professor, where she teaches the best students around and also conducts research on the topic of exercise during pregnancy.

In August of 2016, she founded Hear My Cry LLC, a women's empowerment organization focused on networking, personal development, and legacy building. Within her organization, she uses her natural gifts to empower women by offering them a direct, spiritual, and practical method of navigating life's challenges.

Ashley lives in Leeds but is originally from the small, one-redlight town of Grant in North Alabama. She attended Auburn University where she met her husband, Ryan, and married him a couple of months after getting her Bachelors degree in 2011.Now she has her dream job of being a stay-at-home-mom to her two daughters; E is 4 and M is 2.When Ashley is not busy with her girls or church, she can be found cooking, scouring the internet for good deals, listening to music or podcasts, reading, or drinking coffee.

Audra Smith did not spend her childhood in Alabama, but got down here as fast as she could! Originally from Ohio, Audra met and married her husband (of nearly 6 years now), Brian, while in college, and they decided to move to Alabama on a whim a year after graduation. Audra now resides in the Chelsea area (Sterrett) with her husband Brian, daughter Nora Jo, and living security system (lab/hound mix) Hamilton.

Bobbi was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she graduated from the University of Alabama with her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and later moved to Birmingham in 2010. She soon after met her husband who she has been married to for 6 years now. She has two children, Charlotte and Jacob.

Briana

Briana's been married for 14 years to Matthew, a CPA, and they have three children- Harrison {12}, Easby {8}, and Josephine {3}. They completed their family with a rambunctious rescue pup, Daisy Mae, and a frisky cat, Elliot. Briana and her family live in Hoover, and while she enjoys working full-time, Briana enjoys volunteering, spending time at the family's home on Lake Martin, and binging on Netflix!

Caroline is also a pastor’s wife and a professor of Women's Healthcare in a nurse practitioner program. When she isn’t working, you can find Caroline at church, exercising, and spending time with her family and friends. Out of all of Caroline’s roles, being a mother and wife are her biggest priority and greatest treasure. She resides in Vestavia with her husband, Kyle, and 1 year old son, Asher, and is currently pregnant with another precious baby boy.

Carri has called Birmingham home for the last 15 years. She and her husband met through a mutual friend and were married one year later in New York City. She spent six years as a third grade teacher and is now a stay-at-home mom to Cecil (four years) and Birdie (six months). When given the opportunity, she loves to read, cook, and even exercise (that's a new one). Motherhood has deepened her love for many things, coffee being close to the top.

Cherith was born and raised in Talladega, but has called Pell City home since graduating from Auburn University in 2001. Cherith is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two children, ages 19 and 17. Cherith received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Samford University in 2018 and currently works as the Section 504 & Homebound Specialist for a local school district. Christine lives with her husband of 20 years, Ernie and their three children , Eli (16), Sawyer (14), and Olivia (11) and their sweet Lab, Rocket, in Gardendale, AL. She is proud to call herself a wife, mom, daughter, friend, Physical Therapist, and colon cancer survivor. A lover of fashion, home decor, and also a great bargain, she can be found at her local consignment shop, thrift store, or TJ Maxx when not cheering for her kids at baseball, football, or cheer.

Courtney moved to Birmingham six years ago with the dream of becoming a nurse in the Neonatal ICU. She left behind her five wild brothers but brought along her high school sweetheart, David. David and Courtney got married after their freshman year at UAB. They thrived on cans of soup while pursuing their education and working odd jobs. Courtney graduated and landed her dream job in the Neonatal ICU. One year later, her husband also graduated and began working as an Engineer. They now live in Trussville with their 16-month-old son, Noah.

Elaine and her husband Kyle got married in 2019 and welcomed their son David at the beginning of 2021. She is a proud graduate of The University of Alabama and holds a bachelor's degree in Public Relations. She has worked in the nonprofit and corporate sector doing ministry, volunteer coordinating, marketing, and recruiting to name a few! She is currently a stay-at-home-mom navigating the new waters of parenthood. Her favorite things include running, hiking, baking, and eating her way through Birmingham's amazing food scene!

Erin is a transplant, relocating to Birmingham from the midwest just over three years ago. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she met her husband Karl while attending Purdue University. They had no idea when they received the opportunity to move south that the city had so much to offer. Together the couple has two girls: Hadley (6) and Allyson (9).

Haley is an Alabama native who has fallen in love with her city all over again since she graduated from the University of Alabama in 2007. With a degree in Advertising and Public Relations and a double minor in Marketing and English, Haley has always had a passion for helping the companies she's worked for grow their brands and make a positive impact in their communities. Haley is currently the Marketing Director at GrandView Financial Group and also does independent marketing consulting for causes she feels passionate about like the revitalization effort projects in downtown Birmingham.

Holly has spent almost her entire life in Alabama. Holly connected with her husband Chris over the groom’s cake at her cousin’s wedding and married exactly two years after their first date 18 years ago. Before having three sweet babies in five short years, Holly and Chris flipped seven houses before Fixer Upper had graced American television sets. If she is not working or enjoying activities with her children, you will find her antique shopping, pouring over decorating magazines, gardening or setting a southern dinner table.

Meet Claudia, the wife of a veteran, mother of 2, and a special education teacher. She’s a Mississippi native by way of Texas currently living in Alabaster. Claudia and her husband, Marlon, have been married for 9 years and they have two children, an 8-year-old daughter, and a 3-year-old son. She has been a teacher for the last 14 years and a former dance coach for 6 years. Outside of being a wife, mom, and educator, she is the founder and content creator of Moms Bounce Back, a lifestyle blog, inspiring moms to bounce back from life’s experiences and regain confidence as a woman.

Jenny is a registered nurse, lactation consultant, and birth doula. She and her husband Matthew met in college at Auburn and have been married for 9 years. They have 3 children: Harris-5, Charlie-2, and Emma Grace-2 months, and a geriatric chocolate lab named Troy. She has called Birmingham home since 2014, and loves raising a family here. An Alabama native and raised in Gadsden, Jessica studied ELA education at The University of Alabama, and moved to Birmingham after graduating in 2012. She then started working as a middle school teacher, where teaching became her passion. She also attended UAB for her Masters of ESL, so “Roll tide!” and “Go Blazers!” When she isn’t working, you can find Jessica at church, spending time with her family and friends, or crafting. She resides in Pelham with her husband, Johan, and 1 year old son, Judah. Being a mother is Jessica's greatest joy and most humbling gift.

Joí (Joey) Iman Gresham is a southern belle with edge and flair. A native of Birmingham, AL, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Alabama A&M University and Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Certificate in Black Studies from the University of Connecticut (UConn). She is a licensed Social Worker and has been serving vulnerable populations for 12 years in both traditional and non-traditional roles and settings.

Jordan was born and raised in Birmingham where she met her high school sweetheart, Shawn, who is now her husband. She is mom to her busy and playful son, Sims. Jordan attended Auburn University where she received her nursing degree. She founded Birmingham Breastfeeding, which provides local mothers with in-home lactation care. In addition to lactation consulting, she is also a pediatric nurse at a local pediatrician's office. Her favorite things include enjoying a mimosa (or two), dinner with friends, and blooming jasmine.

Katie, a native Alabamian, came to Birmingham in 2012 to pursue a master’s from UAB in Mental Health Counseling. She works as a Licensed Professional Counselor in her practice, Present Wellness Counseling, LLC, as well as in a residential treatment center for substance abuse. She and her husband were married in 2007 and have a son, Harpin, who’s been keeping them busy since 2016. She is learning daily how to bridge her child development background with real-life motherhood moments, and she is excited to share these experiences with her BMB readers.

Kiara is a small town girl raised in Oxford Alabama. She is a graduate of Stillman College where she received her Bachelors in Journalism and her Masters in Communication Management at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After graduating from UAB, Birmingham felt like home and she never left! She married her college sweetheart and resides in Chelsea with their daughter, Kinslee (5), newborn son Carson (2 months old), and their 8 year old Maltese Bentley.

Kimberly Wright is a native of New Orleans and a proud graduate of Louisiana State University. At LSU, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and worked in marketing for 10+ years. Kimberly moved to Birmingham, AL in 2000 where she met her husband. After the birth of their first son, Kimberly became a stay-at-home mom with fitness as her part time job. Currently, Kimberly is a Certified Personal Trainer and a Fitness Instructor. She lives in Vestavia with her husband and two sons ages 7 & 11.

As the daughter of a military man, Kristen was born in England and spent the first 5 years of her life there, but Alabama has always been her "true" home. She was raised from then on in Wetumpka, Alabama, which was most recently the town was chosen to have a remodel by Ben and Erin Napier, who are stars of the HGTV show "Hometown". Kristen graduated in 2004 from Auburn University where she met her husband Jeff, whose she has been married too for 15 years. They have four children together, ages 12, 10, 10, and 3 and reside in Homewood.

Kristina is an Alabama native who came to Birmingham in 2005 for college (has it really been 15 years?!). She had lived in Muscle Shoals her whole life up until that point. After graduating from UAB in 2009 with a degree in journalism and a minor in music, she married Paul in 2011.

Meet Kristy. She is a wife, a mom and the director of a local preschool. Although Kristy was born in South Carolina, Alabama is where she hung her hat to raise her family. Kristy and her husband, Bill, met on a blind date 30 short years ago and the rest is history. In their 30 years together, they have welcomed five precious children into this great big world. Kristy and Bill have three boys and twin girls ranging in age from 22 to 13 years old. They love, live and play in the Dunnavant Valley community.

Laura Prewitt, 38, is a proud native of Birmingham, having lived here all life with the exception of college at Florida State University in Tallahassee, and a semester abroad in Spain. After graduating in 2004, she moved back to attend UAB, receiving a Masters in Communication Management. She is currently a full time SAHM but does take on the occasional freelance marketing project, and is excited for the opportunity to write and share with other parents.

Born in China, Lisha moved to America at the age of 9. In her first few years here, Lisha became fluent in English, gained an abnormal love for boy bands and glitter lip gloss, and learned to love pizza. After graduating from Auburn University in 2006, Lisha moved to Birmingham to attend Cumberland School of Law. While in Birmingham, Lisha met her husband (Henry) and they have been married for 7 years. In 2016, they welcomed identical twin boys into the word. Lisha had a baby girl 22 months later, in 2017.

Mary is a Northern girl living her best life in the South. She grew up in Pennsylvania and had the privilege of growing up in a suburb right outside of Philadelphia. Of course, she still loves cheering on Philadelphia sports (Fly Eagles Fly). In 2013 her family moved to Montgomery, Alabama so that her brother could pursue football. Montgomery is very special; it is where she met her husband, Chase. They met in a math class in high school (I know, how romantic). Now they have been married for almost 4 years and they have a sassy, Frozen 2 loving, 2-year-old (Claude).

Growing up, if Sarah wasn’t in a tree channeling her inner Anne Shirley, she was riding her bike on adventures through Texas pasture land. Sarah fell in love with her best friend Tony after they shared an on-stage kiss in their high school play. Together Sarah and Tony attended Baylor University where Sarah received her undergraduate and graduate degrees. After a brief stint in Jacksonville, Florida, Tony and Sarah moved back to Birmingham where they now live with their four children, Sophia, Vincent, Luisa, and Grace.
