Why You Need to Plan a Trip to Dollywood in 2021

0

2020 is officially over (and the whole world cheered!), and many of us are looking forward to a new year. Because most of the year we were hunkered down at our houses, a big part of our lives were put on hold–VACATIONS! And we know the perfect place to have a fun, family getaway… Dollywood! Here are my top reasons you should plan a trip to Dollywood in 2021…

Dollywood is CLEAN

Dollywood has put in place several health and safety procedures to keep your family safe during your visit and to comply with the CDC and state guidelines. A few of these procedures are…

    • Limited daily capacity at the parks.
    • Face masks are required for guests ages 3 and up
    • Temperature screenings for everyone prior to entry
    • Attractions and dining capacities are limited
    • Physically distanced queues
    • More cleaning in general and more hand sanitizing stations

Dollywood is in DRIVING DISTANCE

It takes about 4.5 hours to get to Pigeon Forge. There is a time change (from Central to Eastern) and with stops it takes a little longer. It’s actually a beautiful drive into the mountains, with lots of good stops along the way. From Birmingham you go through Gadsden, Chattanooga, and Knoxville.

Planning a Trip to Dollywood is EASY

There are some theme parks that require lots of time, lots of reservations for dining and experiences, and just lots of planning. Dollywood makes it very simple and easy to plan a quick trip to the mountains. You don’t need a flight, a planner, or a bunch of reservations. Just book your tickets and place to stay and you are set! See below for where to stay…

Dollywood in 2021Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa

While there are lots of places to stay in Pigeon Forge, we think the best experience if you’re coming to Dollywood is their very own DreamMore Resort and Spa. They have done an amazing job of making this resort a wonderful place to enjoy time with your family. A few of the resort amenities…

  • Indoor and Outdoor pools
  • Playground
  • Arcade
  • Fitness Center
  • Camp DW
  • Priority access to the parks
  • Complimentary TimeSaver to enjoy expedited entrances to ten different TimeSaver Attractions. A $44 per guest, per day value!
  • Health screening and temperature checks can be done at the resort (before you get to the park!)
  • Free shuttle to the parks
  • Access to the guest-only entrance at Dollywood
  • Items bought at the park are available for pick up at the resort for free

And moms… they have their very own Starbucks in the resort!!! They also have private cabins for those that want the extra private experience.

Dollywood is All About FAMILY

When creating the theme park, Dolly and the theme park creators made the park family friendly. A few of the ways they did this was they made rides for all ages and sizes, shows for everyone to enjoy, and attractions to delight both kids and parents! They also based their park philosophy on Christian principles, and this is very evident in their very helpful and friendly staff… a lot of whom have been working at Dollywood for 10 plus years!

The resort also has a family theme. We love that they have Camp DW for you to enjoy with your kids… things like story time and s’mores around the fire!

Born at St. Vincents, Julie has lived in Birmingham nearly all her life, and she looks forward to meeting and connecting moms all over our community. Before having kids and co-founding Birmingham Mom Collective, she worked various jobs as a retail manager, merchandise manager, software support associate, and an HR recruiter. When she's not taking care of her two young children, you can find her (sometimes) working out, singing and fellowshipping at her church, playing golf (horribly), drinking sweet tea, and taking trips with her husband, Nathan. She loves all things coffee, Gilmore Girls, Disney World, Dolly Parton, and peanut m&ms!
