Spring is right around the corner which means . . . Easter is on its way! And this means traditional egg hunts are in the works for many neighborhoods. Check out this list of egg hunts we have “hunted” down, and let us know if your church or neighborhood park is hosting a community Easter event.

Neighborhood Egg Hunt with Oak Mountain Pediatric Dentistry

When: April 1 – 17, 2022

WHAT: Go on an egg hunt with your family (or by yourself) to see how many eggs you can find! To participate, download and print the Easter Egg Coloring Page with 7 different designs to choose. Decorate your favorite egg(s) any way that you want, then display your eggs in your windows beginning April 1st. Hunt the beautiful eggs, take pictures of them around town, share on our Birmingham Mom Collective Facebook thread, and tag @birminghammomcollective and @oakmountainpediatricdentistry on Facebook and Instagram. UAB Dragon Egg Hunt

WHEN: Sunday, April 3rd, 1 pm (egg hunts at 2 pm)

WHAT: UAB Athletics is excited to host the fifth annual Dragon Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 3. Each year this family-friendly FREE event has grown in size, and this year it moves to PNC Field. Children ages 12 and under are invited to participate in three separate egg hunt areas for kids, and all are welcome to enjoy the other activities: face painting, inflatables, games, giveaways, food trucks, and even visits with Blaze. Preregister here to qualify for a special UAB prize when you arrive.

4th Annual Spring Fling at Medders Farm

WHEN: Saturday, April 9th, 9 am to 3 pm

WHAT: This FREE annual community wide egg hunt and craft fair features over 50 vendors with all types of amazing items plus a food truck area for all your snacking and lunch needs. This year there will be a 10,000+ EGG HUNT with stuffed eggs and prize eggs for even bigger rewards. Egg hunts for all ages will be at 10:30am and 2:30pm (choose either time for any age). This event is a benefit for MHS Marching Band, and donations will be greatly appreciated for their hard work. Learn more here.

Homewood Parks Easter Egg Hunt

WHEN: Saturday, 9th, 3 – 5 pm

WHAT: Head to Homewood Athletic Complex for prizes, bounce houses, and a photo op with the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts are organized by age for toddlers up to 10 years old — remember to bring your baskets for the hunt. The first hunts begin at 3:30 pm for the littlest ones and end at 4:30 for the oldest ones.

WHEN: Saturday, April 9th from noon to 2 pm

WHAT: Don’t miss this annual family-friendly event hosted by FBC Pinson at the Pinson Bicentennial Park!

City of Helena Annual Easter Egg Hunt

WHEN: Saturday, April 9th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am

WHAT: Sponsored by The Church at Old Town and Helena Teen Council at Joe Tucker Park

WHEN: Saturday, April 9th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am

WHAT: Come to the Greystone YMCA for the coffee, hot chocolate and donuts but stay to find the golden egg to receive a big prize. This event will be fun for the whole family — bring your little ones with Easter baskets and take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Learn more here.

Bluff Park Annual Community Easter Hunt

WHEN: Saturday, April 9th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am

WHAT: Calling all kids 5th grade and under! Bluff Park UMC is hosting its annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on April 9th. The event takes place, rain or shine so join the hunts and pose for photos with the Easter Bunny. Learn more here.

Easter Eggstravaganza Hunt at Wald Park

WHEN: Friday, April 15th, 11 am

WHAT: Visit the baby animal petting zoo, take a picture with the Easter Bunny, make a craft and find a prize egg. This non-competitive, relaxed egg hunt is for children ages 6 and under. Learn more here.

Oak Mountain State Park Easter Egg Hunt (Doggies Too!)

WHEN: Saturday, April 16th, 9 am to 4 pm

WHAT: Egg hunts are planned for ages up to 12 years old — and even your pups are included. The last hunts of the day are reserved for the dogs. Standard park entrance fees are required. Learn more here.

Shades Mountain Baptist Church Special Needs Community Egg Hunt

WHEN: Saturday, April 16th, 9:30 am to 12 pm

WHAT: The Shades Mountain Baptist Special Needs Ministry is hosting a Community Easter egg hunt for those who have children or students with developmental disabilities. Learn more here.
