#10- Grandpa’s Guide to Burgers :: Over the Mountain Edition

“Every week my dad meets with the ROMEOs – Retired Old Men Eating Out. (I have also been told this has been claimed by ‘Retired Old Methodists Eating Out.’) They gather for breakfast at the same place at same time each week and solve the world’s problems. They also have been on a self-appointed quest to find the best burger in Birmingham, and they have covered a lot of ground, at least south of the city.”

#9- Taking Back Control Of My Home :: My Adult Chore Chart

“It got to the point that I couldn’t remember the last time I truly cleaned the bathrooms, mopped the floors, or dusted. After two more children joined our family, it was all I could do to keep dishes and laundry done, much less accomplish any type of deep cleaning. I knew something needed to change, but I didn’t know where to start.”

#8- The False Bravado of a Mom with No Hair

“I could probably save myself a mountain of heartache if I stayed home more or rocked a head scarf sometimes, but hiding what’s hurting sends the wrong message to my very impressionable littles. #7- Sno-balls in the Magic City :: In & Around Birmingham

“Sno-balls have their origin in New Orleans, Louisiana. Thankfully, we have a number of local spots to patronize for a taste of sno-balls authentic to the Crescent City. I invite you to pack your crew for a family outing to find these cool treats on a hot day.

#5- From a Mom Who “Used to be Hot”

“So the fact that I’m here is way more important than being hot. I wish more women could have the perspective you get with being sick without actually being sick. Because since I was diagnosed, not a lot else matters besides making sure I’m doing everything in my power to be here for said husband and tiny human fan club.

#4- A Mom’s Guide to Alabama Adventure

“The Alabama Splash Adventure owners—Dan Koch and his 90 year old mother (I know–wow!), Pat, aka ‘the General’—have 60-plus years of experience in the water park and amusement park industry. When they purchased Alabama Splash Adventure in recent years, they renovated, renewed, and re-visioned this theme park from the ground up, and their work ethic can be seen in the park each day.”

#1- Great Date Ideas :: In & Around Birmingham

“Parenting is a full-time job that requires lots of time and attention from mom and dad. Couples need date nights to nurture their relationship, but since parents usually have minimal “free time,” the first thing that gets chopped from the to-do list is date night. So, I’ve made a list of great date ideas in Birmingham that you can refer to when planning your next date night.”
