We Will Never Take Our Girl Time For Granted

Live music, brunch dates, shopping trips, and girls’ nights out: these are some of the things we used to do in person to handle the hustle and bustle of life. Oh, how we took the concerts, good food, laughs, and hanging out for granted.

How many times in the last twelve months have we wished we could safely attend any event that would allow some good girl time? Probably more than we can count.

So, moms: it’s summer. We will pray for safe fellowship and good times all 2021. We will never take our girl time for granted again.

Girl time

Now raise your right hand and repeat the 2021 “Girl Time Declaration” after me:

  • We will not cancel at the last minute for any girl time events unless it is a true emergency.
  • We will celebrate each other more this year.
  • We will make time for each other more this year.
  • We will check in with each other at least twice per week.
  • We will allow each friend to have her own venting session without judgment or talking over her.

Girl Time Fun Ideas

Music concerts are a bridge that connects people from all walks of life. Music soothes, heals, loves, and draws in the endless possibilities of feelings that transform us from each word sung and note played. Attending concerts is one of my favorite things to do with my friends. We always have a good time making friends with the people in our section. Concerts are for loud singing and old-school dancing to make us think, “We still got it.”

A brunch date is another favorite of mine to do with friends. Who doesn’t love a great mimosa, great food, and great conversation filled with laughter and tears? We always try to find new places for brunch so we don’t eat the same thing all the time. Brunch with friends is a scheduled date that I look forward to having. Remember this is girl time only, so if the husbands want to join, you have to plan two separate brunch dates. Don’t allow them to tag along when it’s just girl time fun.

Shopping trips with the girls can get a lot of us in trouble! Ha! Pace yourself, ladies. If you know the next girl time fun is shopping, be extra nice to your hubby before going. I love shopping with my friends because we are confident in who we are. We all have our style, and we all compliment each other as friends. Our personalities are what make each person so valuable to the group. So my advice for shopping trips? Don’t allow the group’s big spender to choose all the stores.

Girls’ Night In

My final favorite girl time fun is a girls’ night in: this includes a slumber party to eat, drink, play games, and do the latest line dance. Karaoke might sneak in somehow. The friend hosting always has a decoration which provides us with the theme for the night. We have patio conversations about what’s going on in our lives. We pray for each other. We support each other. And we make sure to end the night by telling each other how much we love each other and treasure our time together.

Time Well Spent

Don’t ever take your friends for granted. Be intentional to have time well spent with them, enjoying life to the fullest. Stop canceling on them and enjoy creating life memories with them. In the end, all we will have is our memories of our time well spent with the people we love.
