We would like to highlight our partnerships with several businesses that helped make this event possible. Big thanks goes to the Wine Loft Downtown for hosting us and to Shipt for providing the first round of drinks for everyone. Also, thanks to Danielle Poe of Make Me Up by Dani for performing a makeup tutorial and to Aveda Institute for providing hand massages. And special thanks to Angie Davis of Angie Davis Photography for capturing the magic of the night!

On Thursday, May 11th, at 6:30 in the evening, 50 women gathered at the Wine Loft downtown to celebrate the launch of Birmingham Moms Blog and to view a makeup tutorial by Danielle Poe. It was a beautiful night filled with lots of laughs, relaxing, eating, and of course, wine!
Guests checked in and got fabulous swag bags filled with goodies from around town. The bags, which contained over $100 worth of stuff and included “BHM” hats by Aviate, notecards from Dixie Design Collective, love cards for free services from Aveda Institute, silver clips with free monogramming by Monograms Plus, chocolate chip cookies by Cookie Fix, color changing cups from UAB Women and Infant Services, $10 off any service of $50 from Halcyon Days Salon and Spa, and 1 free training or group class from Pure Fitness.
Next up, the women got to have their drink of choice from the bar event menu, generously sponsored by Shipt. Then they could register to win 1 of 10 giveaways, which included a gift bag from Shipt, a manicure from Vestavia Nails, 5 free training sessions from Pure Fitness, a $100 gift card from Halcyon Days Salon and Spa, a pair of LuLaRoe leggings, a $25 gift card from the Pants Store, a flower bowl from Susan Gordon Pottery, a bib and burp cloth from Paisley Pea, a teeth whitening package from McCalla Dental, and a photography mini-session from Angie Davis Photography (contact her at [email protected]).
The ladies could then take a quick picture in the photo booth with their cute new Aviate hats and lots of fun props. Our beautiful Birmingham Moms Blog sign was provided by Lang’s Graphics and Signs! Then they could get a hand massage from the lovely ladies from Aveda Institute. After a bit of food and socializing, it was time for the makeup tutorial by Danielle Poe of Make Me Up by Dani.
Danielle taught us how to do a fun summer look by using shimmery mauves and bronzer in a proper ‘C’ fashion. We learned to apply moisturizer on the face and not to forget the eyelids! Also, concealer can work magic when trying to look younger and well-rested. And, there are great makeup lines at the drug store as well as at the high-end department stores. She advises to spend your money on a great foundation!
Thank you to everyone who came to the event and had fun with us! And if you missed this one, stay tuned for more information about our next event!
