Birmingham

I have lived in Birmingham all my life! Being born and raised in the Magic City has been a great experience. I like to describe Birmingham as a place that provides a ton of southern hospitality but is a melting pot of so many different cultures and people. I have lived here for 27 years, so to see the growth and advancement of Birmingham has been amazing! Now that I have entered motherhood, I am looking forward to exploring Birmingham alongside my daughter.

Mom

As a new wife and mom, life has taken off fast for my husband and me. I dated my husband for three years before we found out I was pregnant. It was the happiest and scariest moment of our lives! I married Christopher on March 21, 2022. We welcomed our now eight-month-old daughter, Dakota, on July 8, 2022. Since we’re not even a year into either marriage or parenthood, the interesting part is the amount of research and advice we seek out as newbies. Staying up-to-date on healthy parenting and understanding how to be healthy in our marriage has been work! We are better parents for it. It’s been both an exciting learning experience, and a big adjustment.

Collective

When I saw the opportunity to become a contributor for Birmingham Mom Collective, I jumped at the chance! First of all, I have been following for over a year, so it was familiar to me as a reader. Also, I wanted to be able to give back to my community of moms in a unique way. I value community, and knowing that I have other like-minded women, including a variety of diverse mothers makes me feel comforted and supported. I am not new to blogging, but I have never blogged in this capacity. The stories and advice that you find on BMC are so helpful and meaningful. I look forward to making new connections, and, as a new mom, I look forward to learning from the veterans and rookies, equally. I don’t believe anyone should have to do life alone. BMC is a valuable resource for mothers of all stages and it is a great feeling to give back to my city through my thoughts and experiences.
