I have lived in Birmingham all my 31 years on this beautiful earth. I attended both Holy Family Elementary and High School (now Holy Family Cristo Rey). After high school graduation, I attended Alabama State University where I studied Communications and Theater. Since returning home to Birmingham, I’ve worked several places, and volunteering has became my passion.
I love that Birmingham is evolving and growing. Old buildings and neighborhoods are getting a breath of fresh air and receiving new life. I love that Birmingham contains hidden treasures and beautiful picturesque backgrounds. Birmingham is the perfect size: it’s a big city with a small town feel.
I have two handsomely adorable boys: Jason (2) and Jared (1). There’s never a dull moment: one moment they’re hugging, and one moment they’re stealing each other’s toys. But seeing them grow and discovering the world, asking endless questions, and giving big hugs is really rewarding.
What’s the most challenging part of being a mom? For me, it is always questioning myself as a mom. Did I make the right decision? Can I give my boys better than what I had?
I find that I second-guess myself more than just going with my gut. Single motherhood is a trial-and-error type of thing, and being in my head 80% of the time doesn’t help either. I have a village that helps me through those questionable moments and faith that keeps me grounded, strong, and laughing (and there is a lot of that)!
I have always wanted to blog because I have always loved writing. I stumbled upon Birmingham Moms Blog while reading one of their articles online. I decided to click the link, and I have been hooked ever since. I enjoy reading posts through the eyes of fellow local moms. I am so happy that I now get to write about my own motherhood adventures.
Writing for me has always been a stress-reliever. I just feel so much better when I write. I am glad Birmingham Moms Blog chose me to be a part of this amazing team of awesome mamas. I can’t wait to post about our adventures!
