Birmingham Mom Collective :: Introducing Jenny M

Birmingham

I moved to Birmingham seven years ago. My husband was born and raised here, and I quickly put down roots as well. I love that we have the big city perks of amazing hospitals and restaurants, but we also have the tight-knit suburbs where neighbors still borrow a cup of milk or drop everything when you need them.

We love raising our family here and feel so fortunate to live close to the zoo, McWane Center, museums, hiking trails, libraries, parks, Botanical Gardens, and everything else that makes Birmingham so wonderful.

Mom

I am mom to Harris (5), Charlie (2), and Emma Grace (2 months). Being a mom is my greatest joy and privilege. Children are pure magic. I am amazed at how babies learn so quickly, and I love watching my children grow and discover the world.

My hope is that not a day goes by without my children knowing how loved they are. I love planning fun activities and going places with them! My children have taught me so much about life and have truly made me a better person.

Collective

I am so excited to join the other women in the Birmingham Mom Collective! I love making mom friends and learning from others who are walking alongside me in motherhood. It is comforting to know that I am not alone in whatever joys or frustrations I experience.

I have been working with new moms and babies for over a decade, and I am excited to share what I have learned over the years. My own life experiences as well as my career as a nurse, doula, lactation consultant, and sexual assault nurse examiner have given me a unique perspective on life and motherhood.

We all have our story, and I am excited to share a glimpse of mine with you!

Jenny M
Jenny is a Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant, and Birth Doula. She and her husband Matthew met in college at Auburn and have been married for 11 years. They have 3 children: Harris (7), Charlie (4), and Emma Grace (2), and a slightly neurotic 1 year old 17-breed “super mutt” rescue named Chase. She has called Birmingham home since 2014, and loves raising a family here. She can be found all over Birmingham doing home visits with Central Alabama Lactation Services, and making mom content at Previa Alliance. In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, wine nights, and making her children gift baskets for every occasion, both real and made up.
