We are happy to partner with RJackson Media for these great photos of our contributors.

Every six months, Birmingham Moms Blog sends out a contributor call and in turn, we get to add new, amazing Birmingham moms to our team! One of our favorite things to do after we add them to the team is take a team photo and individual head shots. This time around, we got to work with one of our contributors, Ericka, and her husband Rusty who together own RJackson Media

It had been a dream of ours to take photos outside at one of Birmingham’s iconic locations (our last two photo shoots were rained out!). We decided to take the photos downtown at the famous “It’s nice to have you in Birmingham” sign on the side of John’s City Diner on Richard Arrington Jr Blvd N.

There were challenges working downtown with changing light (from the sun moving and also clouds at times), changing backgrounds (with people and cars we had to work around), and wind! Rusty and Ericka worked through those by using flashes to fight shadows, as well as a diffuser for the bright afternoon light. Rusty took the photos while Ericka helped with styling. Ericka helped with posing, fixing hair, making sure earrings were turned the right way, making sure lipstick was in place, and much more! She was basically our honest, best friend!

In addition to headshots, RJackson Media shoots other styles including family photos and children’s photography in both natural light and studio settings. Rusty and Ericka also offer video and photography services for weddings, events, and businesses! So check out their website for more information at RJacksonMedia.com.

We would also like to thank another contributor, Kathryn E., for providing makeup touch-ups to make each contributor feel confident and at her best! To get more information about the make-up she used, please visit her website at www.beautycounter.com/kathrynevans.

Born at St. Vincents, Julie has lived in Birmingham nearly all her life, and she looks forward to meeting and connecting moms all over our community. Before having kids and co-founding Birmingham Mom Colllectie, she worked various jobs as a retail manager, merchandise manager, software support associate, and an HR recruiter. When she's not taking care of her two young children, you can find her (sometimes) working out, singing and fellowshipping at her church, playing golf (horribly), drinking sweet tea, and taking trips with her husband, Nathan. She loves all things coffee, Gilmore Girls, Disney World, Dolly Parton, and peanut m&ms!
