Quality Care with Less Waiting

We are so excited that Urgent Care for Children has officially opened its Vestavia location! The Urgent Care for Children co-founders are Birmingham physicians and entrepreneurs, and they knew Vestavia would be ideal as they expanded due to its central location and accessible infrastructure. Other locations include Highway 280, Trussville, Madison, and now Tuscaloosa (opening today, December 3rd).

Urgent Care for Children has grown rapidly, and it’s easy to understand why. Children don’t face sickness or medical emergencies on a schedule, so having an option outside the typical 8-5 office hours is a gift to Birmingham families.

There are several things making Urgent Care for Children unique, but the fact that they hire only pediatricians and treat ages 0-21 are two things that truly set them apart. The staff understands that children need specialized care, even if their pediatrician’s office is closed, and that includes newborns who have just come home from the hospital.

Urgent Care for Children comes alongside a child’s doctor to supplement care when the normal office is closed. The staff at Urgent Care for Children will always refer a patient to his or her pediatrician when available, and they will send a follow-up summary otherwise. There is no competing with a child’s pediatrician but rather partnering for the best care possible, no matter what time care is needed.

Urgent Care for Children has an on-site lab, x-ray machine, and pharmacy, making them a true one-stop shop in an after hours situation. The fact that the lobby is stocked with snacks, juice boxes, and coloring sheets is a nice bonus. This is a place that understands how to make children feel comfortable, and it shows in these details. Urgent Care for Children is even the first urgent care facility in the country to offer sensory inclusion tools from KultureCity, meaning they are equipped to make patients with sensory needs more comfortable during visits.

Telemedicine is a new offering from Urgent Care for Children, and it allows anyone in Alabama (even if they’re just visiting!) access to quality care via video appointments. These visits from the comfort of your home can be for anything, even if it requires a lab visit.

If you want to go to an Urgent Care for Children location, saving a spot online to avoid the paperwork upon arrival is simple. Just log onto www.childrensurgent.com, and everything you need is right there.

Jenny Y
Jenny-Lyn was born in Decatur, grew up in Ohio, and moved to Birmingham as a teenager. Her favorite things about Birmingham include sweet tea, the use of Sir and Ma’am, and the way people offer friendly smiles while out and about. Oh, and the food. Jenny’s background is sales and marketing, each of which she enjoys putting to use behind the scenes with Birmingham Mom Collective. After getting married, Jenny moved from Birmingham to Minneapolis where she invites anyone interested to visit around August. She’s strongly connected to Birmingham through friends, family, and of course Birmingham Mom Collective. Jenny and her husband Soo-Young have two sons, Michael and Jonathan. She guesses she’s officially a boy mom, and that’s a pretty good thing to be in her book.
